MEETING - FLORIDA 2005

The inaugural meeting of the ICAZ Archaeomalacology Working Group was held from the 17th to 19th of February, and was hosted by the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainsville.

The theme for the meeting was:

The Status of Archaeomalacology in the 21st Century

Participants and paper titles are listed here

The programme for the meeting is on-line here

Organised by Irv Quitmyer, the meeting was a huge success with lots of opportunities for discussion and socialising with fellow archaeomalacologists.

Two days of papers (see programme link above) were followed by a full day field trip, visiting a number of 'shellish' sites and locations around the Gainesville area.

If any of the delegates have any photos from the conference, field trip or general socialising, please e-mail them in jgep or gif format to Kath.  A selection of the 'official' photos will be online shortly.
